Casual Cook / Kitchen Hand
We are currently seeking applications for a kitchen hand / home cook to join our kitchen team. We have 3 chefs currently rostered on in our kitchen, which assists us to provide high quality meals for our Residents. We were fortunate to implement the kitchen changes ahead of time back in 2019, as the Royal Commission into Aged Care made quite the impact. Within this, all Aged Care homes are now required to have a Chef. To assist our chefs, we also have Kitchen Hands / Home Cooks in our team, as the Residents love a good ol’ home cooked meal!
Employment: Casual
Shift Time: 9:30am—5:30pm

This role include:
· Preparation of tea time meals
· Preparation of afternoon tea
· Preparing modified meals in line with IDDSI framework
· Setting up lunch time trays for Residents who dine in their room
· Setting dining tables for the lunch time meal
· Assisting the morning cook (7:30am – 3:30pm)
· Restocking items in the fridge or pantry
· Collating teatime menus for that day
· General cleaning duties (wiping benches / dishes, etc)
· Documentation (within the Food Safety Program)
Requirements of this role:
· An understanding of The Food Safety Program / Food Safety
Standards, and Hand Hygiene and Infection Control
· Quick learner / willing to learn from their mentor
· Able to work weekends
· Having an artistic flair / creativity
