Updated Visiting Restrictions

21st of September 2022

As you may be aware through the news and social media, the change to visiting restrictions into a RACF will become effective from Friday 23rd of September 2022.

Visitors entering a Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) will no longer be required to be vaccinated against influenza or COVID19. However, it is still important to note the importance of vaccinations as the best protection against COVID19.

SA Health says this approach is consistent with other high risk settings where there are no mandated requirements on visitors (eg. Hospitals) and reflects the importance of visitors to supporting the wellbeing of Residents and that the RACF is their home.

Other protective measures remain in place around mask wearing (mandatory) and a strong recommendation to conduct a RAT before visiting.

We, at The Willochra Home, continue to Rapid Antigen Test our Residents, following outings as per protocol and are required to report these tests to the Department regardless of the result. Our Staff continue to Rapid Antigen Test prior to commencing their shift.

We do ask that visitors remain diligent, if they are feeling unwell or have any respiratory illness, to refrain from visiting the Facility.

Please feel free to contact me for further clarification.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Kind regards

Leonie Gibbons

Residential Care Manager
